KEMOP - Greece
The KESYY KEMOP “PLATO” was founded in 1992 and it is
recognized by the Greek Government as a philanthropic
institution providing social services to special groups of
the population, such as: Unemployed women, people with
special needs, elderly, ROM, long term unemployed, single
parent families.
KESYY KEMOP “Plato” is based in Nafpaktos Greece and
provides services to the whole Western Greece, covering the
prefectures of Aitoloakarnania, Ahaia, and Ilia.
EXPERIENCE
KESYY KEMOP “Plato” has materialized several projects
financed by the Greek government as well as the European
Union.
Some of these projects include:
1993-95 professional training of unemployed women in child
care and family help.
1994 provided consultancy and home care to elderly people
in the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania
1994 provided professional training (office assistants) to
people with special needs under the supervision of
psychologists and educators.
1995-1999 student exchange programs, parent schools.
1996 organized registration of Rom population in the area
of Antirrion Greece, providing preventative health services
such as vaccination and check ups
1999 organized five day international seminar with eight
transnational partners to set curriculum for parent
schools.
1999-2001 participated in training programs for:
“Automobile and motorcycle technicians” in Pyrgos
Greece
“Musicians” in Aitoliko and Pyrgos Greece
“Data entry and new technologies” Agrinio Greece
“Desktop publishing” in Aitoliko Greece
“Office clerks” in Aitoliko, Partas, Agrinio and Pyrgos
Greece
“Entrepreneurship” in Agrinio Greece
“Floriculture and garden maintenance” in Nafpaktos and
Patras Greece
“Graphic arts” in Patras Greece
“Sawing of carnival costumes” in Patras Greece
“Pottery making” in Pyrgos Greece
“Building cleaning” in Pyrgos Greece
“Catering” in Agrinio Greece
In 2001 KESYY PEMOP “Plato” participated in “Daphne”
project fighting child and women abuse. The project was
funded by the European Union.
In 2002 KESYY PEMOP “Plato” participated in Cameo Mentoring
project against employment exclusion.
In 2002 KESYY PEMOP “Plato” participated in EQUAL project
“social entrepreneurship against labor exclusion”
In 2003 KESYY KEMOP “Plato” coordinated a project funded by
the Greek government and the European Union to provide
supportive Social and Psychological Services (SYY) in the
area of western Greece.
In 2004 KESYY KEMOP “Plato” is the coordinator of 14
partners, in the prefectures of Aitoloakarnania, Ahaia and
Ilia, under the project “Egrigorsi” against the employment
exclusion of women.
